Summer sure has flown by fast and falling temps and leaves are around the corner.  We will have September’s Fellowship on Sunday, September 22, Rally Day.  I am planning a small brunch with sloppy joes and a few sides.  Please plan on joining us after our service.  Still considering selling Christmas cookies in early December.  I think that is something a lot of people are interested in purchasing.  More info to come.  Please enjoy the last of the warm days of September.  We all know what is coming-brrr.

Monthly Women’s Breakfast…Please join us at our monthly breakfast at Vasilio’s in Cortland on the second Thursday (September 12) of every month at 10:00 am.  All are welcome!

IT’S BACK!  PARTY ON THE PATIO!  You are invited to join us for our Party on the Patio on Saturday, August 10, 4:00 to 7:00 pm.  We will provide the meat.  Please bring with you a side dish or dessert to round out the meal.  Wear your Disco attire and be ready to boogie!  Please sign up on the bulletin board what you are bringing and how many are coming so we can plan accordingly.  Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

From the Fellowship Committee Chairperson, Pam Gerbetz…I just have to thank again all of the bakers who supplied items to our Bake Sale.  It was a success even with the terrible heat that day.  We made $350 for our efforts.  Good job!  July’s Fellowship was also a success with strawberry and blueberry treats.  I think everyone enjoyed this and I will certainly repeat that one again.  In August we are planning our potluck Party on the Patio.  This will be our August Fellowship gathering.  Check the bulletin board in the narthex for details and a food sign-up sheet.  I have been thinking of attempting to sell Christmas cookies in early December.  We would need 10-12 bakers.  More info to come this fall.  I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful summer God has given us!

Monthly Women’s Breakfast…Please join us at our monthly breakfast at Vasilio’s in Cortland on the second Thursday (August 8) of every month at 10:00 am.  All are welcome!

Things are going well so far this summer.  We just finished with our first Flea Market/Garage Sale.  We also had a Bake Sale thrown in.  The vendor turnout could have been better, but those who were here were happy with their sales that day and would come back.  We had a steady stream of cars coming in to see what was going on most of the day.  I am sure the excessive heat played a role in all of it.  I want to thank everyone who was involved in the planning and the workers who helped that day.  Great job!  Hope you all have a great summer!

60th Anniversary Picnic and Open House…Our next function here at Living Lord Lutheran Church will be our 60th Anniversary Picnic and Open House on Saturday, July 20, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.  This function will be open to the public.  We will have a Bouncy House, face painting, and balloon animals for the children.  There will be a Talent Contest with prizes which should be a lot of fun.  The church will be open to the public with information about who we are as a church.  We will have new flyers to pass out and will hope again that the congregation takes part.

Flea Market…On Saturday, June 22, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, we will have our very first Flea Market/Garage Sale here at Living Lord.  We will have vendors and folks who would like to do a garage sale not at their home.  We will sell spots at $10 each and they will provide their own tables.  We are in the planning stages to do a Bake Sale during the Flea Market.  As a little added touch, we will have a Food Truck that day also.  I am hoping we will have some folks from the congregation to mingle among the visitors and pass out flyers about Living Lord Lutheran Church to let everyone know what a great church we are!  If any members are interested in a spot, there would be no fee.  We are planning another function in mid-July and more information will be coming on that.  If you are willing to assist at the Flea Market, please call Bob McKinney.

Fellowship…My heartfelt thanks to the Fuchs Committee for the wonderful new chairs in the Fellowship Hall and the additional chairs and tables to use throughout the beautiful church.  We will certainly welcome the comfort.  Fellowship for June is on Sunday, June 19.  I am thinking strawberries so let’s see how that turns out.  Plan on joining us!  Summer is here with all its beauty and warm weather and picnics and vacations.  I want to wish everyone safe and happy adventures with family and friends.
