Did you hear the peal of handbells outside on Wednesday night, May 27? The Bell Choir honored our graduating senior, Madeline Goussious, with a “ring out”. On the way to the Howland graduation celebration at the drive-in, Madeline’s parents made a surprise stop at the church where our handbell members greeted Madeline with the pealing of handbells as part of our parking lot celebration. Thank you, Madeline, for your dedication to the bell choir and good luck at Florida Tech! If you get a chance, check out the photo display of our celebration in the narthex.
Card Classes…After many years of teaching our card-making classes, our instructor, Pat Vidis, is retiring from teaching. These monthly card-making classes were a great creative and social place for people to gather. Among the participants each month were members from three area churches’ card ministries. Through the years, the class participants have done several different projects, such as veteran thank you cards for our church members. Our largest project was several years ago when we made over 450 Christmas cards for the veterans at Louis Stokes VA Medical in Cleveland. Pat has been making cards throughout the pandemic, and recently donated over 50 cards to supplement the ones I send in our card ministry. Every November she has also donated a very generous amount of janitorial supplies to the church as a thank you for allowing her to teach here. Thank you, Pat, for your leadership, patience, and friendship. Our card ministry at the church continues, but I will miss your inspiration and the fellowship of this group each month.
