From the President, Bob McKinney

It seems that I just finish one article and it’s time to do another one.  I will tell you, time sure seems to go by faster since we have been retired.  I tell Karin I don’t know how we got anything done when we were working!  We are having a Town Hall Meeting on September 23 following the second service to discuss same sex marriage in the church.  We also will discuss the changes our Council has made that will be helpful to all couples getting married in our church.  I am hoping many of you will be able to attend and have your input heard.  The Community Meal at Emmanuel Lutheran Church is Friday, September 21.  We will be providing the food, set up, and clean up.  This is a wonderful outreach to our community and we will be serving approximately 125 people.  This is one of many things our Outreach Committee does during the year.  We are planning another function for the Courtyard in October.  This will have a fall theme and will be another fun time had by all.  More details will be coming soon!  I want to again thank those that participated in our “Ketchup” Sunday, bringing our summer giving current.  I am hopeful that we can continue to increase our giving by the suggested amount for the rest of the year.
